Hailstone means raining Ice Cubes. It was a rare sight to see ice cubes falling from the sky. And it was my first time to see hailstone in Brisbane :D
It all happened one day, where my housemate (Jin) and I were at the kitchen as it was raining heavily with strong wind outside. Suddenly, loud sounds like marbles striking the windows happened. Where Jin told me, probably it was raining ice cubes. Immediately I dashed out to the balcony with shorts and T-shirts :S to see raining ice cubes without even realizing how cold it was outside :S But it was very amazing as I see ice cubes like marble size smashing at the balcony floor.
I was busy picking up those ice cubes and taking pictures. Luckily, I was not been hit by the ice cubes as it does looked scary when it smashed against the balcony floor. Overall, it only lasted for about 5 minutes as I went back to the living room and felt super cold after that lol.. But all was worth to see Hailstone here and I believe it would not be my last :D
Below are some pictures that I took at the balcony of the ice cubes.

Haha.. I cooked Spaghetti for my housemate and me :D See… how tempting it is :P
When you are in overseas, it is very interesting to see how Singaporeans celebrate NDP here. It was my first time celebrating Singapore NDP in overseas, where the Singapore Club had arranged for us to celebrate Singapore NDP together.
We arrived at about 6pm at QUT (Queensland University of Technology), to have our pre-packed meals. The food was Nasi Brani, but it was cold and awful :S Anyway, we still had our dinner there and proceed with the live viewing of the NDP celebrations.
It was the first time, where I actually sited and enjoyed the whole NDP performances. Usually in Singapore, I would be busy doing other stuffs or walking around. The atmosphere there was very entertaining, as the Singaporeans are very enthu throughout the performances. They were cheering, clapping, storming and singing their way through as we watched the performances. We even stood up to sing the national anthem and took the pledge at 8.22pm (Singapore timing). It really reminds me of the times during Sec School, where I had to take the pledge and sing the national anthem those days. Never the less, together with my friends we enjoyed the whole NDP celebrations even though we are not in Singapore. The whole program was even more memorable and meaningful. Where it really reminds us how proud we are to be a Singaporean :D

Going to watch NDP celebrations tgt.. there are still others.. bt didnt take any pict :S

We stood, cheered, watched, sung, stormed and most importanly enjoyed watching NDP celebrations :D

What is Ekka?? Ekka is a festive which I think only celebrates in Brisbane, where it is to celebrate the farmers hard work on farming the farm. It is also one of the bigger festive in Brisbane, where we are given 1 day public holiday too.
Last Saturday (8th August) went to Ekka with my friends, Yu Jie, Pat and Andrew. We reached there during the afternoon and played till night time. If you are in Brisbane, during this period, it is a must to go place to enjoy the atmosphere of this special festival. Mainly, you will get to enjoy seeing farm animals (definitely), from cows, dogs, horses, ducks, etc, to fireworks at night and stunt driving. The event last for about 1week and every day, there will be different events shown. For the day that I went, we managed to watch Polo competition, stunt driving and fireworks.
Other then the performances, there are lots of show bags to be bought, ranging from chocolates, sweets, toys, magazines, etc. There are also game stalls for you to win big soft toys other stalls that sells things from clothing, food, caps, etc. Last but not least, you really have to catch a glimpse of the cows, it is soo soo huge, bigger and taller than a full grown man. The animals at Ekka are all winning awards animals, thus they are the best of the best types of animals from all the Aussi farms.
Below are some pictures that I had taken at Ekka. Really had a wonderful day there :D
C THE FAT COWS, THEY ARE REALLY TALLER THAN ME SIA..

Some pictures taken while walking along the themepark and buying food :D

Polo Competition

Fireworks at Night :D And they fired it at the middle of the stadium.. very close to the audiences :D

Stunt Driving. They got motor cycle stunt drives too and this fire jet car that blust fire at the back of his car.

ShowBags, which is one of the main objective to go to EKKA. There are lots of things to purchase at the showbag exhibition. However, some things are kind of not worth the value.. so you need to know what are worth and not worth to buy. But anyway.. as for me.. I bought lots of chips and choloates at the end of the day :D

Seriously, I did not expect myself to be that tired where it is only the 2nd week of school. I felt exhausted, juggling between school wrk, outings, house work, studying online test, going to school, cca, etc… Everything seems taking a little of my time and energy that I felt tire after everything. I think I am suffering from rich in activities but poor in time.. Especially school work, where I need to spend more time understanding the Australian context. For example, my business law, I study the Australian law where they used common law, instead of Singapore civil law. And knowing their hierarchy chart of who has more law power than who.. etc.. Well, it is interesting, but it really takes me time and effort to study the text book to understand. And I would not blame the school for making me to study everything in Australian context, but I just felt exhausted at the end of the whole day :(
Hopefully, I will be able to adapt to the whole system by another few weeks time :)
Oh just a little note, I will be attending NDP celebration (organized by Singapore Club in UQ here) and going for the Ekka (an Australian festival) this coming week, so do view my blog to know more exciting activities going on in Brisbane here. I usually would not update my blog on tue to thur.
Happy
